- Read this list on Tips for Complex Scenes
- keep your networks and nodes neat and tidy - this is
imperative to studio work - use colors, network boxes, select a
style but keep neat
- add comments with stickies - not only will this help the person looking at your file later, it will help you later when you don't recall exactly what or why you did something
- use null nodes with _OUT or some such name _OUT_PTS so that you can easily reference and object and if you change something upstream the reference does not break
- take advantage of geometry containers
- some studios/artists recommend encapsulating your work in subnets
- make user defined parameters on the top level node, or create a null node where they are centrally located
- animate your source for fluids - pyro, water - for more interesting effects
