Houdini and Redshift Particles

A general guide to Redshift (my notes) can be found here.
I have been using Redshift in Houdini in Houdini 19.0.383 and in
19.5.303. Note that Redshift only allows one version to be
installed.
Rendering Particles:
I have a sample file with comparison and tips on rendering particles RenderingParticlesRedshift.hiplc
- mantra - easy to add color, even to points, if you want shaders then copy spheres to your points (primitive or poly - be sure to pack), examples of varying pscale in the file as well
- redshift - color can be added - see example file above (if you
want variation you can use the rs point attribute in the
shader), I found the shader assigned at the top level worked
well.
- Example in file above, and motion blur works if you set the
settings much like in mantra in the object and in the rop. In
the rop you will want to used the "Advanced" motion blur with
instancing/particles checked as well.
- There is an excellent video with tips on curved motion blur for Houdini Redshift at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1FyZ9evoJVc&t=9s
