There are some interesting things you can do with cos and acos.
This person on youtube produced some interesting visualizations (thang010146)
In particular, the door for limited space demostrated acos beautifully.

I have created a corresponding hipnc file called doorForLimitedSpaceH15.hipnc
and an improved version that takes into account the "ball bearings" doorForLimitedSpaceH15Improved.hipnc
